What is Benzydamine Spray?

Benzydamine Spray is an antiseptic mouth and throat spray used to relieve pain and discomfort in the mouth and throat. It is a generic version of Difflam Spray and contains the same active ingredient, benzydamine, which helps to numb the affected area and reduce inflammation.

What is Benzydamine Spray used for?

Benzydamine Spray is used to provide relief from sore throat, mouth ulcers, and other oral and throat discomforts. It helps to numb the pain, reduce inflammation, and alleviate symptoms associated with infections or irritations in the mouth and throat.

How to use Benzydamine Spray

Spray directly onto the affected area in the mouth or throat.

Age Dose
Under 6 Years old 1 puff for each 4kg of body weight, up to a maximum of 4 puffs daily.
6 - 12 Years old 4 puffs, every 1.5 - 3 hours
12 Years+ 4-8 puffs, every 1.5 - 3 hours

After use, wipe the nozzle with a tissue to prevent blockage.
Stop using the spray if prolonged stringing occurs in the mouth or throat.
If the condition gets worse, or does not get better, speak to a pharmacist or doctor.
Avoid contact with the eyes.

Benzydamine Spray ingredients

Active ingredient: Benzydamine hydrochloride 0.15%. Other ingredients include ethanol, water, and flavoring agents, which help deliver the active ingredient and improve taste.

Benzydamine Spray side effects

Possible side effects include temporary numbness, a burning sensation, or mild irritation in the mouth or throat. Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing may occur. If any severe reactions occur, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

How to store Benzydamine Spray

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C. Keep out of reach of children, and ensure the cap is tightly closed after each use. Do not use after the expiry date.
