What are hair loss capsules?
"Hair loss capsules" is a common hair loss treatment and is a once-daily capsule prescribed off-label to slow male pattern hair loss and support regrowth.
They work by blocking the enzymes that convert testosterone into DHT, the hormone that shrinks hair follicles. It blocks both types of that enzyme, so it lowers DHT more than finasteride does. It should be taken continuously, and most men see results after 3 to 6 months. If treatment stops, any hair regrown is usually lost within 9 to 12 months.
Women who are or may become pregnant should not handle the capsules.
