What is Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel?

Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel is a soap-free cleanser designed for people with dry, sensitive, or eczema-prone skin. It gently cleans while also hydrating and protecting the skin. Unlike regular shower gels, it doesn’t strip away natural oils, helping to reduce dryness and irritation. It’s suitable for all ages, including babies, and can be used daily as part of a skin care routine.

How does it work?

This shower gel contains isopropyl myristate and liquid paraffin, two moisturising ingredients that:

  • Rehydrate the skin while washing
  • Leave a thin, protective layer that locks in moisture
  • Help soothe and calm irritated or inflamed skin

How to use Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel

  • Use it in place of ordinary shower gel or soap.
  • Apply to wet skin using your hands or a sponge.
  • Gently massage into the skin and rinse off with warm water.
  • Pat dry with a towel, do not rub.
  • Can also be used as a leave-on moisturiser if needed.

Who can use it?

Doublebase Shower Gel is suitable for adults, children, and babies. It's ideal for people with:

  • Dry or very dry skin
  • Eczema or dermatitis
  • Psoriasis
  • Other sensitive skin conditions

Using with other Doublebase products

For best results, use Doublebase Shower Gel as part of a complete skincare routine:

  • Use Doublebase Shower Gel in the bath or shower to cleanse without drying the skin.
  • After drying, apply Doublebase Gel to lock in moisture and soothe dry or irritated skin.
  • For very dry skin or long-lasting hydration, you can also use Doublebase Dayleve Gel in the morning.

All Doublebase products are designed to be used together and are suitable for sensitive skin.

Side effects

Side effects are rare, but may include:

  • Mild skin irritation or redness
  • Allergic reaction (very uncommon)

If irritation occurs, stop using and speak to your pharmacist or GP.

How many bottles will I need?

One 200g bottle of Doublebase Shower Gel typically lasts 2-4 weeks with daily use. For family use or larger areas, multiple bottles may be needed.
