How does Soolantra Cream work?

Soolantra Cream contains ivermectin (1%), which works in two key ways:

1. Antiparasitic action: Targets and eliminates Demodex mites, microscopic organisms that are thought to contribute to rosacea symptoms.
2. Anti-inflammatory action: Reduces redness, swelling, and irritation associated with rosacea.

How to use Soolantra Cream

Apply Soolantra Cream once daily, preferably in the evening. Follow these steps:

1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry.
2. Take a small amount of cream (pea-sized) and apply it in a thin layer to the affected areas, avoiding the eyes, lips, and mucous membranes.
3. Gently massage the cream into the skin until fully absorbed.
4. Wash your hands thoroughly after application.

Consistent use is key. You may notice improvements within 4 weeks, but full results typically take up to 12 weeks.

To acheive the best results while using Soolantra, consider these tips for managing rosacea:

1. Cleanse your face twice daily with a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser to remove impurities without irritating the skin.
2. Use a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer to maintain skin hydration and reduce dryness or peeling caused by treatments.
3. Protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, as sun exposure can worsen rosacea symptoms.
4. Identify and avoid triggers such as hot beverages, spicy foods, alcohol, and extreme temperatures, which can aggravate rosacea symptoms.
5. Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliants, as they can irritate sensitive skin affected by rosacea.
6. Consider calming skincare ingredients like niacinamide or ceramides to soothe redness and strengthen the skin barrier.

Soolantra Cream ingredients

Active ingredient: Ivermectin (1%).
Other ingredients: Carbomer copolymer type B, cetyl alcohol, citric acid monohydrate, dimethicone, edetate disodium, glycerin, isopropyl palmitate, methylparaben, oleyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, polyoxyl 20 cetostearyl ether, propylene glycol, propylparaben, purified water, sodium hydroxide, sorbitan monostearate, and stearyl alcohol.

Precautions for using Soolantra Cream

While Treclin gel is safe to use on most types of skin some care must be taken when using it:

1. Do not use Soolantra Cream if you are allergic to ivermectin or any of its ingredients.
2. Avoid applying the cream to broken, sunburned, or irritated skin.
3. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
4. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before starting treatment.

Possible side effects of Soolantra Cream

Common side effects include:

1. Mild skin irritation
2. Dryness or redness
3. Burning or stinging sensation
