What is Doublebase Dry Skin Hand Wash?
Doublebase Dry Skin Hand Wash is a soap-free cleanser specially formulated for people with dry, sensitive, or eczema-prone hands. Regular soaps can strip away natural oils and worsen dryness, but this gentle hand wash cleans the skin while also moisturising and protecting it. It’s fragrance-free, non-foaming, and suitable for adults, children, and babies.
How does it work?
Doublebase Hand Wash contains isopropyl myristate and liquid paraffin, which help:
- Cleanse the skin without harsh detergents
- Soften and rehydrate dry, rough skin
- Leave behind a protective film that locks in moisture
This makes it ideal for frequent hand washing, especially if your skin is irritated by soaps, alcohol gels, or hard water.
The wash contains isopropyl myristate 15% w/w and liquid paraffin 15% w/w. Other ingredients are macrogol cetostearyl ether (cetomacrogol), glycerol, carbomer, sorbitan laurate, trolamine, phenoxyethanol and purified water. Check the supplied pack if you have an ingredient allergy.
How to use Doublebase Dry Skin Hand Wash
- Use it in place of your regular hand soap.
- Apply to wet hands and rub gently to cleanse.
- Rinse with warm water; a light coating may remain on the skin. Pat dry gently rather than rubbing.
- Follow with an emollient like Doublebase Gel if extra moisture is needed.
Using with other Doublebase products
Doublebase Hand Wash can be part of a full skincare routine to keep dry skin under control:

- Apply Doublebase Gel or Doublebase Dayleve Gel after washing if you need additional moisture.
- For the rest of the body, try Doublebase Emollient Shower Gel and Doublebase Dayleve Gel.
Who can use it?
This hand wash is suitable for babies, children, and adults, including those with:
- Eczema or dermatitis
- Psoriasis
- Dry, cracked, or sore hands
- Allergy-prone or sensitive skin
Side effects
Doublebase Hand Wash is very well tolerated. Rarely, it may cause:
- Mild stinging or irritation
- Redness or rash
Stop using and consult your doctor or pharmacist if irritation persists or worsens.
Fire risk: keep away from smoking, naked flames and other ignition sources. Product residue on clothing, bedding and dressings can make them catch fire more easily and cause serious burns. Wash these fabrics regularly; washing reduces the build-up but may not remove it completely.
