What are Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts?

Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts are a convenient form of paracetamol that dissolve on the tongue, designed for children aged six and over. They help relieve pain and reduce fever, making them suitable for common conditions like headaches, colds, and sore throats.

What are Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts used for?

Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts are used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever in children. They can be helpful for treating headaches, sore throats, earache, teething pain, and symptoms of colds or flu. They are also suitable for reducing fever after vaccinations.

Calpol SixPlus and Fever

Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts are often used to bring down a fever in children, especially when they are unwell with a cold or after a vaccination. The paracetamol in these tablets helps reduce body temperature and provide relief from discomfort.

Do not give this medicine to your child for more than 3 days without speaking to your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not give with any other medicine containing paracetamol. If too much is taken, get medical advice immediately, even if the child seems well: serious liver damage can be delayed. Take the bottle or pack with you.

Other paracetamol containing products

Do not give Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts with any other medicines containing paracetamol, as this could lead to an overdose. Avoid giving it alongside ibuprofen without consulting your doctor. Also, do not use if your child has an allergy to paracetamol or any of the ingredients in the tablets.

Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts ingredients

Each tablet contains 250 mg of paracetamol. Other ingredients include mannitol, aspartame, and magnesium stearate, which help the tablet dissolve quickly in the mouth.

These tablets contain aspartame, a source of phenylalanine. Do not give to someone with phenylketonuria (PKU). Check the full leaflet for other ingredient warnings, including sugar intolerance.

Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts side effects

Side effects are rare, but some children may experience allergic reactions such as skin rash, swelling, or breathing difficulties. If you notice any unusual reactions, stop using the product and contact a doctor immediately.

How to store Calpol SixPlus Fastmelts

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the tablets in their original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
