Daktacort Cream
What is Daktacort Cream?
Daktacort Cream contains a combination of two active ingredients, hydrocortisone and miconazole, and it can be
used to provide fast relief from various skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema that could be caused from
a certain fungal or bacterial infection.
Hydrocortisone is a mild topical corticosteroid and has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties which
help to reduce inflammation, redness, itching and swelling.
Miconazole is an antifungal medication used to treat various fungal infections, including those that affect the
skin, nails.
What is Daktacort Cream used for?
Daktacort Cream is primarily used to treat a range of skin conditions, including fungal skin infections, such as
athlete's foot as well as various forms of eczema and dermatitis.
It effectively alleviates itching, redness, inflammation, and discomfort associated with these conditions.
Do not use Daktacort to treat ringworm unless directed to by a doctor as it can make the condition worse.
Where it can be used
Daktacort Cream is safe for use on the body's external skin surfaces, including arms, legs, face, neck, hands, and feet.
Where it should not be used
Do not apply Daktacort Cream unless your doctor has advised you to:
- On broken or bleeding skin
- On the gentials
- On the anus
- On the face
How it works
The combination of hydrocortisone and miconazole in Daktacort Cream works in two ways. Miconazole effectively combats fungal infections by inhibiting the growth and spread of fungi. Hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid, reduces redness, swelling, and itching by suppressing the body's natural inflammatory response.
