What are Buccastem M tablets?

Buccastem M tablets contain the active ingredient 'Prochlorperazine' which belongs to the class of drugs known as antiemetics. These work by blocking the action of certain chemicals in the brain that cause the feeling of nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting (being sick) .
The tablets are placed between the upper lip and the gum and allowed to dissolve. Once placed onto the gum the tablet dissolves slowly and the medication enters your blood stream providing long lasting relief from nausea. If they are swallowed whole they may not work properly.
They are an effective treatment for nausea and vomiting associated with migraine.
